Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Account Data

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address via Supabase Auth. Your password is hashed and never stored in plain text. We also store your subscription tier and billing status.

Billing Data

Payment method details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by CountyPulse. We receive subscription status, plan type, billing period, and transaction confirmations. We do not receive or store credit card numbers, CVVs, or bank account details.

Contact Form Submissions

If you contact us, we collect your name, email address, and message content for the purpose of responding to your inquiry.

Automatically Collected Data

We use Cloudflare's server-side analytics tools to understand how visitors use our site. These tools do not use cookies, pixels, or fingerprinting technologies.

  • Cloudflare Web Analytics: Collects aggregate data including page views, visitor counts, geographic region, browser type, device type, and referrer. No cookies are set.
  • Cloudflare Zaraz + Analytics Engine: We collect anonymous usage events (page views, feature interactions) via Cloudflare's server-side analytics. Events include page path, content section, and referrer domain. No personally identifiable information is collected for anonymous visitors. No cookies are set.
  • Cloudflare Logpush: HTTP request logs (including bot traffic) are stored in our cloud storage for security monitoring and traffic analysis. Logs include IP country (not full IP address), user agent, requested page, and timestamp. Logs are retained for 12 months.

For authenticated users: when you create an account, we record which page you first arrived on and the referring website. This helps us understand how users discover CountyPulse. This data is linked to your account profile.

We do not use tracking cookies, pixels, or fingerprinting technologies. All analytics are server-side and cookieless.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Process subscriptions and billing through Stripe
  • Respond to contact form inquiries
  • Send service-related communications (billing confirmations, Terms changes, security alerts)
  • Analyze aggregate usage patterns to improve the Service (no individual tracking)
  • Enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties. We do not use personal information for targeted advertising.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We use trusted third-party services for hosting, content delivery, analytics, payment processing, and authentication. These providers process data only as necessary to perform their services and maintain their own privacy policies.

We do not share your personal information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

4. Data Retention

  • Account data: Retained while your account is active; deleted within 30 days of an account deletion request
  • Billing records: Retained for 7 years as required by tax and financial regulations
  • Contact form submissions: Retained for 2 years, then deleted
  • Analytics data: Aggregated by Cloudflare; CountyPulse does not maintain individual-level analytics records
  • Terminated accounts: Personal data deleted within 30 days of termination, except where retention is legally required

5. Data Security

  • All data is transmitted via TLS/HTTPS encryption
  • Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms via Supabase Auth
  • Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1 certified)
  • Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel only

No security measure is 100% effective. We cannot guarantee absolute security but take reasonable measures to protect your information.

6. Your Rights (CCPA — California Residents)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

  • Right to Know: Request disclosure of personal information collected, used, or shared
  • Right to Delete: Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal exceptions)
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell personal information. No opt-out is necessary.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights

To exercise these rights, contact contact@countypulse.net. We will respond to verified requests within 45 days.

7. Children's Privacy

CountyPulse is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly. Parents or guardians may contact us at contact@countypulse.net to request removal.

8. Do Not Track

CountyPulse uses Cloudflare Analytics, which is server-side and does not use cookies or client-side tracking technologies. We do not respond to Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals because no client-side tracking occurs. Our analytics behavior is the same regardless of DNT settings.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to registered users and/or prominent notice on the site. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
